Xtandi is a medication typically used to treat prostate cancer. Xtandi is a brand name only medication and is available as an oral capsule.
Xtandi is a prescription medication that contains the active ingredient Enzalutamide. Xtandi is used to treat prostate cancer that is resistant to medical or surgical treatments (castration resistant) and is given once daily.
Xtandi is an antiandrogen that blocks testosterone and stops the growth of cancer cells by blocking the effects of androgen hormones.
The major side effects of Xtandi include dizziness, tiredness, constipation or diarrhea, hot flashes, signs of a common cold, headache, weight loss, insomnia, anxiety and changes in taste, among others.

Your risk of seizures may be increased while taking Xtandi. Your risk for seizures may be higher if you have certain brain blood vessel problems or if you take other drugs that increase the risk of seizures, brain injury, stroke or brain cancer.
Avoid tasks or actions where passing out could cause harm to you or others, and talk to your doctor. The risk of falling is also increased when taking Xtandi.
Use with caution if you have risks for heart disease, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, being overweight, having high blood sugar or diabetes or smoking cigarettes.
Xtandi interacts with many other drugs. Be sure to talk to your doctor about your full medication list before starting Xtandi.
Xtandi is not indicated for use in females. Male patients with female partners who have the ability to get pregnant should use effective birth control during treatment and 3 months after the last Xtandi dose to avoid harm to the unborn baby.
