Tizanidine is a medication used to treat muscle spasms. It is available as a brand name or a generic and comes as an oral capsule or tablet.

Tizanadine is a medication used to help treat muscle spasms. The brand name equivalent of Tizanidine is called Zanaflex.

Tizanidine should be used only as needed. This medication works by decreasing muscle spasms to help your muscles relax.

Common side effects of Tizanidine include dry mouth, fatigue and dizziness.

You can take Tizanidine with or without food, but take it the same way each time; either always take it with food or always take it without food.

You should only use Tizanidine at times when muscle relief is most important.

This medication can cause liver problems. Call your doctor if you experience dark urine, dark urine, fextreme weakness, loss of appetite, upset stomach, light-colored stools, vomiting or yellow skin or eyes.

This medication can also cause urinary tract infections (UTIs). Call your doctor if you experience blood in your urine, burning or pain when passing urine, urinating frequently or pelvic pain.
