Timpotic is a medication used to treat eye pressure. Timoptic is available as a brand name drug or as a generic and comes as an eye gel and an eye drop.

Timoptic works in the eye to reduce fluid production and decrease pressure. It is typically used once daily in the morning.

Elevated eye pressure (intraocular pressure) is typically due to an excess of fluid in the eye. This can cause permanent vision loss and glaucoma.
Use Timoptic in the eye only. Keep using Timoptic as directed by your doctor, even if your eye pressure returns to normal. Try using this medication at the same time every day.
Take out contact lenses before using. Contact lenses can be put back in 15 minutes after using the medication. Tilt your head back and drop Timoptic into the eye. Keep eyes closed after using.
If you use other eye drops, separate them by at least 5 minutes apart. Tell your doctor if you have an eye infection, eye injury or if you plan on having eye surgery in the future.
