Entresto is a medication typically used to treat heart failure. It is a brand name only medication and is available as an oral tablet.
Entresto is a prescription medication that contains the active ingredients Sacubitril and Valsartan.
Entresto is taken twice daily and the dose is usually increased after 2-4 weeks as tolerated. Entresto relaxes blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily, which makes it easier for the heart to pump blood to the body.
The most common side effects of Entresto include low blood pressure, increased potassium, and a dry cough.

You may not be able to feel the effects of Entresto. Do not stop taking this medicine unless instructed by your doctor.
Low blood pressure can occur with Entresto. Call your doctor if you feel dizzy, weak, or feel like passing out.
Call your doctor if you experience signs of kidney problems including inability to pass urine, change in how much urine is passed, blood in the urine or weight gain.
You should also call your doctor if you have signs of high potassium levels including an abnormal heart beat; change in thinking clearly and with logic; feeling weak, lightheaded or dizzy; feeling like passing out; numbness, tingling or shortness of breath.
Entresto may be combined with other medications to adequately control your heart failure. Entresto should not be used with ACE-inhibitors such as losartan, valsartan or Irbesartan. You may have to delay starting Entresto if you have recently been taking an ACE-inhibitor.
